Listings don't go straight from the web to our directory. They pass through automated validation, human verification, and ongoing checks before and after publication.
Opportunities that have passed our publishing and quality checks.
Unified category architecture with dedicated verification criteria.
Automated screening backed by human comparison against source listings.
From discovery to ongoing checks, stale removals, and community flags.
Numbers are rounded down and updated as the directory grows.
Contest information changes. Deadlines get extended, prizes change, registration pages move, and competitions can be cancelled.
A directory can have thousands of opportunities and still be frustrating to use if the information is outdated. An expired deadline or broken registration link can cost you the opportunity, or the time you already spent preparing for it.
Contest Hopper is built around keeping listings useful after they're discovered, not simply collecting them and leaving them untouched.
Every opportunity moves through a quality process before and after publication. Automated checks help catch structured problems, human review adds another layer of verification, and ongoing checks help keep active listings useful.
Contest Hopper discovers contest opportunities from platforms, communities, and organization websites across the web. New listings enter our collection first, and are not published automatically.
Before a listing moves forward, automated checks validate the information collected from its source. Structured validation helps identify incomplete, inconsistent, inaccessible, or otherwise questionable data before it reaches the review stage.
Listings that move forward are manually reviewed before publication. A reviewer compares the information against the original source and checks the details that matter most when deciding whether an opportunity is ready to enter.
If the information does not check out, the listing does not move forward.
A listing can change after it is published. Deadlines may move, prizes can change, competitions can be cancelled, and registration links can stop working.
Active listings are regularly rechecked so important changes can be caught and outdated information can be updated or removed.
When an opportunity expires or its registration link is no longer valid, it should not continue appearing as an actionable opportunity.
Expired and broken listings are removed so the directory stays focused on opportunities that are still available to enter.
Automated checks and regular rechecks are not a substitute for feedback from the people using the directory.
If you find a listing that looks outdated, inaccurate, or broken, you can flag it. Every report is reviewed and the listing is rechecked so the problem can be corrected or the listing can be removed.
You report it. We check it.
Publication is only one point in the process. Active listings continue through regular checks, while reports from the community can send a listing back into review.
Finding an opportunity is only the first step. You still have to read the brief, understand the requirements, prepare your submission, and meet the deadline.
When the information you're relying on is wrong or outdated, that time can be wasted.
Our quality process exists to reduce that risk, so when you find an opportunity on Contest Hopper, you can spend your time deciding whether it's worth pursuing instead of wondering whether the listing is still valid.
Browse opportunities that have passed through our quality process.
“We'd rather show fewer useful listings than fill the directory with stale ones.”
